Take for instance the claim you made during your Tax Day rally's this year that Taxes Are going up for Most Americans ? That is not True and you are Telling a Bald Face Lie.

Taxes right now are are at the lowest rate they have been for 50 Years ( That is Fifty Years).

Taxes went down immediately for every "working American" when The congress passed the Presidents Recovery Act which included the stimulus as well. ALL WORKING AMERICANS saw their PAYCHECKS Net Take Home Pay go up Immediately upon passage of the law.

That happened ! That is a Fact ! No matter how many times you Tea Party Dick Heads try and gin up your weak minded followers with " your version " of truth, It just ain't so my tiny little tea party people.

What we have here is nothing more or less than stupid people with guns, and you know what? I'm fine with guns. I believe Americans should have them if they want them. I believe in reasonable limitations on being able to purchase assault weapons and bazookas because, well, the words "well-regulated" are right there in the Amendment next to "militia." I believe in background checks to make sure you're not buying a gun because your medication ran out. But I've come to believe that being able to buy and own a gun should also involve passing a fairly difficult civics exam. Before someone goes out to buy a gun in defense of their country and their liberty, we should have some kind of metric to determine if that person actually knows anything about the country, and knows anything about the roots and truths of the liberty they claim to cherish.

When I point out that Timothy Mc Vay was NOT a Liberal Terrorist and he killed 161 of our Fellow Americans at the worse domestic caused Terrorist Incident before 9-11, and more particularly that he was a Member of the Militia - and that we see their YELLOW - Snake Eaten Flag at every Tea Party Hate Fest, the silence is Deafening !

By your own admission in your talk just now on the Floor you stated that
our Founders gave us rights in the Declaration of Independence and stated that they were
granted to us by what you called Nature or God?

Mr Ryan - If Your God or Nature created the rights in the Declaration and Bill of Rights
Then surely LIFE-LIBERTY and the Pursuit of Happiness can not be achieved or maintained without everyone in our country having "affordable proper and Non Cancel-able" Health Insurance that under our "Private Enterprise System" you cited in your talk today are the People who Pay for the Charges that the Docs and Hospitals and Dentists and Med Supply Cos and DRUG Cos charge to strangle our poor tire huddled asses as we get sick and start to die.

The GOP ( and some conservative Demodogs) have become the people who would deny the American People the Ability to get Affordable Health Insurance . They also have become the Party of Denying the American People any Rights under Health Care.

Today as I watched a part of the House Budget Comm. Hearings on Health Care Reform, Motion after Motion offered up to HELP the American People get and afford Health Insurance that provides No PRE Existing Conditions and No Annual or Lifetime Caps on Care was almost completely denied by the Republicans on that comm. at every turn.

Something as basic as putting into the law articles that Prevent Health Insurance Cos from Denying Coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions and Preventing the Cos from Canceling a policy when the annual or lifetime caps are met or worse yet effecting recission on a policy ( which means they cancel your policy when you are at your worse and sickest ) . Under Recission they can simply say you lied on your app or did not include all the info or facts they needed to accept your application ( even Years down the road they can).

Now why in the world would anyone not agree to having items like that in a Health Insurance Reform Bill ?

Because they are on the Payroll of the Big Insurance Cos that's why !!

Because they take MONEY from these Evil Bastards that run Insurance Cos and in return they sell their souls to them Lock Stock and Barrel.

Our Founding Documents declare that all of us are created equal and given rights by what they called our creator.

Those documents date back to the 1770's and we are now in the 21st Century and I have to ask again "Are we Equal?"

We have laws nowadays that make discrimination Illegal but yet we allow laws to be passed ( that are mainly backed by Religious Folk) that say People of the same sex can not get married and therefore enjoy the same benefits of marriage that the rest of us do.

Those who oppose same sex marriage make arguments that sound a whole lot like the ones used by the opponents of Inter Racial Marriage years ago and today. They sound like the arguments made by people who did not want Women to get the vote or for African Americans to be Equal in that regard either.

So I ask again - "Are we Equal"?

What is it that we are if not Equal? Are we a Class Based Society that allows Laws to Determine how much "liberty" certain of us may have?

If we are to be America - The Nation that was said to be the shining example on the Hill by some - How can we be that if we do not acknowledge that each of us is a Human Being that has those Rights given to them at Birth. Simply for being HUMAN.

How cam America be a Nation that supports Liberty and Justice while at the same time it Denies its own people the rights that Every Human Being is entitled to ?

Once upon a time our ancestors owned slaves and classified them as less than people.
Once upon a time our founders Owned Slaves and classified them as less than people.
Once upon a time people of other races ( other than White) had to eat, drink and use the rest room marked for "Negroes" instead of the ones marked for Whites Only.

Are we to be a Nation that Loves Liberty and Equality or Not ?

The Crazies was the name that used to be used to reference the people like attended the CPAC meeting in Washington DC back before Regan -Bush came into power in 1980.

I maintain they are still Crazy but the problem is so are many Regular people who seem to believe (despite actual living proof) that they are better off under so called conservative leadership than under Democratic leadership that leans toward a Socially Responsible Democracy

I managed to view a few of the speakers at this meeting of Conservative Pricks and Assholes Convention but whew my stomach really couldn't take much more!!

I want to review a little history for folks who seem to be bent upon Economic Suicide via conservative policies.

From 1980 until now this country has been led and fed the so called "conservative" agenda that has ended up in the worse economic conditions since the great depression !

We have ended up with Fewer and fewer regulations on many areas of "business" in this country because the Conservatives said that was Bad for us. And we got as a result the economic turmoil we experienced in late 2008 and all of 2009.

Regan came to power with the help of the Christian Conservative Right or today's Tea Party Movement ( all the same). He preached the evils of Regulation and Labor Unions and how both would kill the economy and how his version of Trickle Down Economics would give us a better world to live and work in. ?? Many of you bought his BULL SHIT and we have you to thank for allowing these CRAZIES to gain the power they now enjoy in Government.

When I hear folk make arguments about the High Costs of Labor ( like many a republican loyalist does even though they are themselves Laborers and Workers that need better Jobs or just a Job) I have to laugh to keep from allowing my animal instinct to take effect and well going nutz on em !!

The Time of The New Deal, Formation of Stronger Labor Unions, Labor Laws, Work Place Safety Laws, Pension Reform Laws like ERISA in 1974, Wage and Hour Laws and Yes a Time of HIGH INCOME TAXES ( 1960's through 1980 or so ) We experienced as a People Economic Growth and Job Formation , a rise in our Standards of Living that most people in my age bracket ( the 50's and 60's age wise) have not seen since then !!

Personal Income Tax Rates were in excess of 50% for some people that were making Big Money back in the day, but the Corps still created Jobs and Produced Products and services and we as workers had damn near Full Employment !!

When the Regan Crazies came into power in the 1980's and started the systematic destruction of the American Way of Life in Favor of The Corporate Government Philosophy we now see playing out in our lives it should have been enough for people with average intelligence and above to take heed and stop those Damn SOB's from gaining even more power in Government. BUT it didn't happen. It didn't happen because they De Regulated and Bought Off any politician and Regulator they could. They enacted Laws that tried to overturn decades of Gains made by the Workers in this Country so their Ritch Bitch Corporate Friends could make even more profits by Exporting our Jobs to Places outside the Country that had little to no organized Labor Movement or Regulations that forced Govt to provide for the common welfare.

So I submit to you that the arguments that say Less Regulation is Better and that allowing the Wealthy Corporate Profit Mongers to Control our Country is better are simply and categorically False. The Proof is in front of you all !! We are living in the results of the failed Policies of the Conservative Agenda right Now !!

For anyone to still maintain we are better off when the "conservatives are in power" is a sign that your Intellectual Capacity has been permanently damaged beyond repair.

So if you listen to folk like those who gathered in DC at the CPAC meeting and you truly believe what they are saying - you are a part of the what is WRONG with AMERICA TODAY

I voted for you and I listened to your promises closely during the election cycle.

I understand how "politics" has worked for many years and know why you said some of the things you said during the campaign. I understand a lot of speeches during campaigns are the art of selling your "Ideas" to the people ( which is really selling them what they want to hear).

All that said - I still think you are a decent person but I am not sure your Loyalty is where you stated during that Campaign just completed a little over a year ago now.

I am distressed to learn that you have taken in over $20 Million Dollars from the Health Care Industry during the last decade according to Federal Election Comm Reports and Open Secrets.

Combine that with the knowledge that you cut a backroom deal with the Big Drug makers before the Debate over Health Care Reform ever started in Congress and I think any reasonable thinking person would have "some doubt" as to your sincerity toward Real Health Care Reform.

It seems every time I listen to a Republican on the TV talk about the "economy" they want to hand off the blame for ALL of the problems to President Obama and the Democrats?

Under Mr Clintons watchful eye and that of the New Republican Majority led by then Speaker Gingrich the BANKS that so recently have caused us all pain were allowed to become evrything they were never supposed to be !! Glass Stegall was stripped down to nothing more than a few words on a sheet of paper that meant nothing any longer.

The People in Power over the last 30 years in DC have done nothing but enable the Rich Bitch Korporations and the Wealthy Bastards they serve as their Whores and left the "working Man and Women" in the dust to rot the slow death of an economic slave.

Lets examine what the republicans called an act to help the people, Medicare Part D Whoo Hoo aint that a great one. They passed that little ditty in the Dead of Night behind Closed Doors when they held the reigns of power and Guess what, they offered NO WAY TO PAY FOR IT !!! $400 Billion Dollars of Expense and No Damn Way to Pay for it !! That is what the senate is saying to the Insurance Co.s now that they passed the Health Insurance Bail Out Act of 2009 ( We used to call it Health Care Reform).

You know it never seems to surprise me to what lengths Politicians will go to try and force people to believe a lie. The case in point is the so called Reform Bill passed by the US Senate recently. Of course fearless Leader and his minions can claim they passed a bill and that it is a start BUT - what are the costs to us the people ?

1) The cost of not getting a real public option or the preferred expansion of Medicare which would have solved the problem ( No Access to Care)
2) The cost out of pocket for almost everybody who now can not afford to buy Insurance just went up under this Debacle of a Bill. About $1200 out of pocket each year in addition to the premiums that these people can not afford right now and certainly wont afford it ovber the next 10 Years
3) The " Mystical Pre-existing Condition Ban" - It takes effect in 2014 ! That is 5 Years down the road and 2 Elections away - How God Damn Convenient for those weak knee suck ass politicians in Washington DC !

This Bill is a Flat out Pay Off to the Doctors - Hospitals- Health Insurers - Drug Companies and everyone else who ALREADY CONTROLS the "Market" for caring for our health and then the demise of our Financial Existence just to pay for the shit they call Insurance along with the Over Priced Bills from the so called health care providers.

It is staring to seem like a Huge Cruel Joke being played on us all by these Profit Whores in Washington DC we call Senators and Congressman.

I for one have already made my mind up regarding the 2010 elections and the 2012 elections. I will No Longer Support any Democrat at the national Level until such time that they pass a real health care reform LAW. The Expansion of Medicare for all would do just fine.

Well did anyone watch the "performances" being given by the Do Nothing Republicans and the " Corporate Democratic Whores who oppose health reform Saturday Night"?

In case you didnt tune in during the day and evening to watch the so called "debate" ( translate as an ACT to conjure up mo money from the Corporate Masters that really control the Senate of the USA) I will give you a review of what went on.

First wasn't it thrilling to watch the Repooblicans yet again demand we Protect Medicare but that we should not mess around with a "Government Run Health Care System" ? Uh? Mr n Mrs Repooblican ? Medicare is a Government Run Health Care System - remember you guys passed the Prescription Drug Part under the last president and your Republican Controlled Congress then forgot to PAY FOR IT back Then. Yes you remember don't you?
I thought that you did. ( it was that little matter of about $800 Billion in that program that added to our National Debt and put about $500 Billion in the Corp Masters Pockets)

Now moving on - Should I mention here that had we just went for the Medicare for all plan ( I.E.- Single Payer System) that opponents of the New Reform may have had even less of an argument against reform since they want to protect Medicare? Nah wont do it wouldn't be prudent at this time.

Anyway I think people at this stage of this "GAME on Reform" should recognize who is and is not really concerned about the Health of the American People and our ability to receive care under any system. The Republicans almost to a person ARE NOT concerned about your Health or that of your Children - they see Health Care strictly as a Business that must be Profitable because the Great Mandates of their GOD - Capitalism dictates it to be so. Henceforth they go into the debate about actually helping people get the care they need without regard to anyone's real state of health. Good Republicans, Good little Corporate Surrogates.

As for the "so called democrats" like Landriue, Lincoln, Nelson and Lie Berman in the Senate - Let this be Known you Corporate Whores - we are watching you and we will see to it that you become Un Employed should you decide to take sides with the Insurance Cos in the final outcome on this Reform. To those Senators that stood up during the "debate" and said they would not vote FOR the Reform Bill with a Public Option? Remember ? You Repuklicans used to condemn that as the Great Society Laws that led to all those "bad Entitlements" ? I am never amazed to what lengths the Republicans will LIE their asses off to try and get someone to listen to them. They care little if they speak any truth it is more important for them to listen to themselves than to effect real change and Help in getting Care for People. In the End we will get a Health Reform Bill- I believe that to be true.

In a perfect world I would have hoped the politicians would have acted with mercy and compassion and fore thought by putting on the books a Single Payer Expansion of Medicare for ALL and thereby giving Americans the same advantages in Health Care that the rest of the "civil world" already has. But then again we are talking about the Congress of the United States of America here aren't we? You know the Saturday Night Live of World Political Organizations. And If you have taken any Dollars from them you should then be put on trial as well for Bribery in addition to MURDER.

I consider each person who voted against the Reform bill tonight to be a Traitor and they should accordingly be forced out of office
at the next possible date - if not sooner. Voting against health care reform is a being a Traitor to the very idea of equality in America.
Not endorsing a bill that would open the door for millions more of our fellow citizens to get proper and affordable care is no different

Well folks here we are close to a so called Health Reform Bill at Last( sigh of relief-NOT)

One thing after a nuther aint it? First the Publicans went all Death Panel on us and such. Then The FOX News Tea Baggers went all Town Hall meetin on us. We even got ta see sum Gun Totin at a few Meetins. Then those opposed to reform insisted we waz a tryin to be a bunch of Socialists and such. Now we got some of them thar REELigious Folks tryin to stop reform by saying words like abortion and such. And of course the latest twist is that People like Joe LIE-Berman and Envious of Money Bayh - an Independent ( right?) and a Democrat ( not) are sayin they is gonna stand up with the Party of NO and Feelibuster this yar Health Kare Beel.

Thing is ya'll - it seems that Old Lie-Berman kinda takes money from the Insurance Cos and well he feels like he oughta just help em out sum ya know. And then there is Mr Evan Bayh( who likes money alot). Seems his Wife sets on the Board of Directors of WellPoint One of the Largest Health Insurers in the Country. Together he and wifey pooh own about $500,000 to $1 Million in STOCK of that company? Umh? Bet they made em a bundle tuther day when the stock prices jumped up after old Joe L and Mr Bayh said they would join the Publicans in their Feelibuster didnt they.

Ya see I may be just an Old Hillbilly and I might had been raised up with a little less edumacation then some of them thar folks in the Senate in DC but I reckon I know a Scam and Crooks when I see em. And I reckon I see a whole passle of em right now in that thar Senate we have in DC.

And all these years I was a thinkin them folks in DC was sent there to represent us the folks out here in America? I sorta thought we Americans was a more compassionate bunch then it seems we are. I was raised up to believe that we should put people and their needs ahead of Profits and Greed.

The idea that you can allow a state to make this decision is ridiculous and does nothing other than allow those states with High Conservative concentrations to DENY THEIR CITIZENS the right to participate in health reform. Which in the interim will COST LIVES, More people will die because of this so called "victory".

Suppose when we abolished slavery, or passed equal rights and Voting rights we allowed a State Opt Out of those LAWS?? What the hell do you think would have been the outcome then?

This is one of the worse sell outs in my memory by some Flim Flam artists that call themselves Democratic Politicians.

Mr President we voted for you because you said you would reform Health Care - we did not realize you meant you would pass a Welfare Bill for the Health Insurance Industry !!

The Idea of a Single Payer- Medicare for all Reform was taken off the table before there even was a Table in this debate by the President. He failed to LEAD on this issue like he should have done since we (Dems) had Majority in all areas of Govt .

We Never Needed any Republican Support to get this passed- Medicare for all that is.

The ONLY reason we are seeing this type of so called reform with an Option for States to Option out of any Federal Law that is Passed is because the Health Lobby spent Millions of Dollars everyday and has stuffed many of these Politicians pockets FULL of CASH.

We have in the end been witness to the best Reform that Health Industry Lobby Money can Buy from our so called elected representatives.

By the definition that FDR used we are living in a fascist state right now - where the Corporations control Government and we the people are forced to take whatever the Corporate Govt wants to shove down our throats.

What a sad day it is to witness leaders like Harry Reid and President Obama go belly up for their Corporate Masters in the Health Industry.

I am not proud of my President or my Democratic Leaders this day not proud at all.

In Fact I am ashamed they are doing what they are doing since this will further delay real reform and therefore mean more people will die for lack of care and access to health care that they should be provided by this country simply for being an American.

Just a brief comment on the recent Health Insurance Cos Campaign of lies they released just Yesterday, One Day before the Senate Finance Comm votes on the bill.

In testimony again our Senator from WVA ( Jay Rockefeller) correctly points out Ins Cos are getting under the Baucus Bill a Half Trillion Dollars in "subsidy" (that is over Half of all the money in the Bill) and still they had the Nerve to Lie through their teeth yesterday in "their release of their study" claiming Premiums would have to go up if Reform is past? LIARS, Profit Whores is what they are, they are not interested one little bit about Your Family or Mine having access to Health Care at affordable prices. In Fact they(Ins Cos) want exactly the opposite, High Cost very Rationed Care so their "loss ratios" are better and they can pay their "investors" more dividends or raise their stock price.

It is past time to take control away from these Profit whores and Nationalize our Health Care System today - Right Now - then they either play by "our rules" or they go out of business !! PERIOD. Single Payer - Medicare for all - should be what we are getting instead of these Corporate Welfare Bills being peddled as "Health Care Reform".

Health Insurance Companies are Killing us at the rate of 144 per day(45,000 each year) due to No Access to affordable care or Insurance. They restrict who can see their doctor ( not govt) they restrict what medicine you can take ( not Govt) They deny coverage based on pre- existing conditions ( Not Govt) they Rescind coverage when you get really sick and start costing them money ( Not Govt)

Without Government Run Medicare For ALL - we are simply kidding ourselves into thinking something is being dome on our behalf !!

Only in America would we allow a Corporate Killer to stay in business for the sake of so called "free Enterprise and Capitalism" ! This is not the America I grew Up In and sure as hell is not the America I served in the Military for. It is TIME to DESTROY CORPORATE AMERICA and make them be "Corporate Citizens Again" like they used to be. They the Corps need to be held accountable for the 45,000 Deaths each year in our Country because of Lack of Access to Health Care and or Insurance.

We need to put their Corporate Leaders On Trial for MURDER and send a few of them to Prison for the rest of their lives - maybe then they will begin to understand us ???

This is purely a personal post and I am so tired of dealing with this issue I could Go Off any second !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOM

Comcast over one year ago offered one of those TRIPLE PLAY deals so we took it.

Then in about FEB of 2009 our PROMO expired and we got a bill that was significantly higher so I called them and told them to come and Dis Connect our Service. I was immediately directed to a young fellow named "Phil" who informed me that he could "save us some money on the bill" so I listened ( worse mistake I ever made ), Long Story Short he got our Bill down to a little over $20 MORE than we had during the Promo but we had to Give up HIGH SPEED INTERNET and accept what I call CABLE DIAL UP SPEEDS !! The Internet has been so Awful after that on our home systems you would not believe it !!! We are lucky to get 100 kbps download speeds if that. We also had to downgrade our Telephone service to get thsi $20 more than Promo Price.

During this Call in FEB 2009 with Phil at Comcast I ended the call with HOW MUCH DO WE PAY ON THIS MONTHS BILL to Comcast PHIL ??? He gave me an amount taht I wrote into the payment spot on that months bill. It got paid immediately.

Ever since there has been an "unpaid balance" showing up our bill each month of #28.87

I have called numerous times and talked with every LIAR COMCAST EMPLOYS to cheat us out of our money as Consumers

Now This Month we get a letter after we pay the bill that says the will dis connect us if we do not pay the $28.87 in unpaid balance.

I have news for you COMCAST - I am MAD AS HELL AND I WILL NOT TAKE YOUR SHIT ANY LONGER

VERIZON can beat your regular prices by LOADS

I am tired of your BULLSHIT KISS MY ASS you aint getting teh $28.87 that " you claim" we owe you.

I WAS TOLD WHAT AMOUNT TO PAY ON OUR BILL BY YOUR EMPLOYEE BACK IN FEB of 2009 and that is what you now are stating we have this unpaid balance of $28.87.

It is Sept 3rd 2009 and in 8 days the anniversary of the Attacks of Sept 11th 2001 will be upon us.
Remember how we all felt that day? Remember later on when we learned of the Deaths of 3000 of our fellow citizens ? Do you remember how that felt?

Well if you do then think about this.

Each Year in our great Country there are between 18,000 and 22,000 Americans that die for no other reason than Lack of Access to Affordable Health Care and Insurance. That is Right EVERY YEAR !!

My Friends and Fellow Americans how can we as a Nation allow this to continue ??

By Not enacting Real Health Care Reform that allows every American Affordable Access to Health Care we are in effect allowing the equivalent of 6 Sept11's to Kill 18,000 of our fellow American Every Year !!!

Real Health Care Reform will allow people who can not afford Insurance or Care to Get it
Real Reform will Mandate that Insurance Cos CAN NOT exclude coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions or allow them to Rescind a Policy from inception because they feel someone omitted facts at application time( allows Ins Cos to Cancel Policy and refund premiums and clain=m no coverage from the date of issue)

Real Reform will provide for PREVENTIVE CARE for everyone

In short Real Reform must also provide for a Public Option at the very least.

It would be preferable to have a single Payer National Plan- Like Medicare available to everyone that wants it by simply expanding Medicare - but we may have to wait on that a bit.

I have listened to all the so called "Debate" at those ludicrous Town Halls where Irate Groups of people who really cant stand the fact that a Black Man is the President or for that matter that a Democrat is the President. ( Its starting to remind me of the Joe McCarthy Days when I hear folks at these meetings)

The Only people who really Oppose Reform to our Health Care System are those Too Dumb to understand what they have read and those who have a Vested Interest in making sure we the people do not get affordable access to health care IE- Insurance Cos- Pharmaceutical Cos - Medical Equipment Cos among some.

As we hear that the Blue Dogs ( pretend Democrats) in the Senate have already caved in on the Public Option I have to wonder where this will lead us?

I watched the Wheeling WV Town Hall Live Streaming on the Net the other day and as I pointed out in an earlier note, there was an Insurance Agent that used the Access WV plan to try and convince that poor Mother who has a 17 Yr Old Daughter in a Wheel Chair that the Access WV Plan would indeed Guarantee her daughter Coverage when she turned 25 and was dropped from Dads Insurance Plan at work.

Well Guess what here is the actual language directly from the Plan Summary for Access WV

" Waiting Period for Pre-Existing Conditions
In general, persons joining AccessWV must meet a 6-month waiting period for pre-existing
conditions. This means that AccessWV will not provide benefits for services related to these
conditions, including prescriptions, for 6 months after coverage is effective. It will pay for services
related to newly experienced injury or illness. A pre-existing condition is any condition for which
medical advice, care or treatment was recommended or received during the 6-month period
immediately preceding the effective date of coverage. This waiting period applies to persons who
join AccessWV in the "medically eligible" category. It does not apply to persons who are HIPAA
eligible and to certain persons eligible for the HCTC.

So, Mr Lowe ( Larry Lowe of Wheeling the Insurance Agent in question) did NOT TELL THE TRUTH in that Televised Meeting did he !! He acted as if the Insurance Industry and the Access WV Plan would be the salvation for the family in Question.

What if the daughter needed to continue treatment for her "Pre-Existing Condition" when she turned 25 and no longer was carried on the Family Plan ? Well she would have to WAIT FOR 6 Months to get anything covered under Access WV !! And lets say that maybe the treatment she might need was for Cancer of some Type ? should she have to wait 6 months? Her Family or her could probably get the treatments but at What Cost to them ? And what if Dad gets laid off or worse yet his employer shuts down? How does having a 6 Month Pre-Existing Condition Clause in Access WV allow people to get the coverage they need ?

Of Course getting in Access WV depends upon the Premium you can pay also which in the girl who would be 25 Single at that time would have to scrape up nearly $500 Per Month for Single Coverage in the Northern Region Plan to even get her Policy ??

Especially when they are already sick, which by the way is why this whole Health Care reform was supposed to have been started Right? to help those who are in the most need- dont have coverage and cant afford it or Have Insurance but are getting Killed by Pre-Existing Clauses- Cancel Outs by Ins Cos. that Go Back to the start of A Policy and Refund Premiums then say they had no coverage from the start because they didnt disclose something in their application for coverage??

By the way I do Not Consider Access WV a Viable option for people who either can not get coverage now because they are Out of Work ( how do they afford the premiums of they are unemployed" Same Bull shit as Cobra Coverage) Nobody can afford the $ 500 Per MOnth Premium and still Eat when they dont have a Job for Christs Sake !!!

I can see what the Access WV plan really is - It is a Dumping Spot for people who are sick !!! Therefore it gives the Insurance Industry a way to Claim they are helping when in reality they have worked with the state to allow them (Ins Cos) to avoid covering these people who need coverage "Directly" - instead the people covered under Access WV are lumped into the same network as PEIA ??

On the National Level we may get Co Ops that we hope would be Non Profit but I would not count on that too much !!! There are way too many " Politicians that have already accepted Millions of Dollars from Insurance Cos and Big Pharms to count on any real reform without a True Public Option.

I still fell Personally that we should have a True National Health Care Plan modeled much like Great Britain, Canada or other countries that cover ALL their Citizens and do so at Half the Cost we are spending right now in the USA.

One of the Major Problems we face as a People is both the Rising Cost of Care to us the people along with the growing Debt Long Term we have had to endure.

President Obama himself pointed out very rightly so in the Colorado Town Hall he had that If we do not get the Health Care Costs Under Control - we have no Hope of Getting our Debt Under Control Long Term !!

If the Congress Fails to accomplish True Reform we might as well Pack it in folks.
The Days of our Being a Financial Power in the World will be Over.

I find it really Ironic at the least that so many so called Religious People are out there fighting against Health Care Reform ?? Simply amazes me and befuddles the mind. Not to mention the heart?

Yet they set back and accept that check from Social Security every month if they are Seniors above retirement age. They also screamed about getting the Govt out of their Health Care but use and abuse Medicare Everyday of their Lives.

There are some very Important Decisions that unfortunately have to be made right now on this issue if we are to remain a viable functioning Nation of people.

We have to see that every American has access to affordable Health Care, not just because it is the Right Thing to do but also because it will bring down the overall costs of providing health care to each of us. It increases the number of people paying into the risk pool and that WILL DECREASE the overall costs for each of us in the long run.

We have to get the exorbitant costs Prescription Drugs and For Profit Providers Under Control and reign in their unhinged ideas of Profits above all else or we just get more of the same thing we have BUT at an Increasing Cost Curve, And That Is UN ACCEPTABLE

We have to bring down the overall cost of Medicare or nobody will have it in the future.
In 8 years the amount going into Medicare each month from Tax Revenues will be less than the current costs to operate the Plan. It would take yerars before it would go completely Belly Up but it would be Selfish at teh least to allow this situation to continue.

If we dont cut away the Waste and Abuse in the Medicare System by Providers charging 2 and 3 times for the same procedures, or the Administration Fees for doing nothing more than claims processing ( which is what the President has spoken of the $17 Billion per year Savings) we will leave Medicare a Hulk with no ability to pay for care for Future Generations of Americans.

There was also a man at the Wheeling Meeting that stated to the Woman who has daughter in wheel Chair that - "Hey we are good people we will take care of your daughter we will help you ..." Really ?? Then why are there 45 Million People without Insurance Coverage? And To that Man I am directly asking Him - Exactly when and how much are you prepared to help that Family ( or others) . Get your check book warmed up dude its name to start doing something more than running your mouth. Oh Wait I should point this out to you sir- You are already paying for this same situation via Higher Premiums on your own Policy, via Higher Costs at the Hospitals and Doctors because they charge more to make up for Care they provide !!

Look The Bottom Line folks is We should want to provide Health Care for Everyone and for Preventative Care also. It ends up being cheaper in the overall picture

But if you continue to go into this adventure with the attitude that Dont Mess with "My Govt Plan" by allowing everyone to have the same coverage I get via "My Govt Plan (medicare)" then we will not only be Hypocrites we will be Dishonest with Ourselves wont we ?

There is No Government Conspiracy to do away with anyones coverage or To Kill Grandma or other such BULLSHIT put forward by the Insurance Company Lobby or the Big Pharms 60 plusorg type assholes or Sara Palin I will quit my Gov Job so I can Help yall ? WTF???

My review of Town Hall in Wheeling WV

As I had figured the Shouters showed up with their Shout Down tactics

But there were several people who I thought had at least made an attempt at reading the House Bill 3200 before they attended. Unfortunately most of the Anti Reform folks simply had read Talking Points being put out by Anti Reform Groups like Freedom Works and 60plusorg and Others.

I respected the people that got up stated their names and asked good sound questions regardless of Pro or Con the Bills. But unfortunately those rowdy shouters tried to drown out most the meeting. You could tell by the way questions were asked and shouted at the Congressman where the people stood before they even had an answer from him.
And when he would answer them I could hear people via the Camera mike saying he is lying he is lying??

The Congressman was way more tolerant than I would have been with several of those screamers. I think Alan Mollohan handled it pretty well and answered all the questions he had the ability to answer- when He didn't have a complete answer he let them know that upfront before attempting an answer

I also noticed a Large Percentage of these Screamers even screamed at the poor lady who described her daughters condition being in a wheel chair and her concerns about keeping coverage for her later on in her life? And what about if Dad lost his Insurance how would she get her covered. They way some of those people reacted to her situation was shameless !!!

Its a Farce to have someone like an Insurance Agent who makes God Knows How Much Money every year off of the Insurance Plans he sells to Groups all over the Valley stand up and get a Clapping Ovation from those "seniors there" that think he cares one shit about them. And the way he confronted that poor lady with daughter in a wheel chair was un called for. He was more concerned about his Insurance Industry Reputation than being of any help to those poor folks.

He is an insurance agent all he cares about is his Commission he gets on those Group Plans

He is Part of The Problem Not part of The Solution for Crying Out Loud.

And When I see that many Seniors crying they want Govt out of their Health Care I just have to Shake My Head in Disbelief ?? Good Gravy Medicare is Govt- Single Payer System

This whole debate about Health Care has brought to my mind the first time I got to negotiate a Contract for My Local Union Local #864 ICWU( International Chemical Workers Union) back in 1976. I was a Young On Fire Unionist Fresh back from the Military and Full of Bravdo.

I had just been elected as the President of that Union and One thing stood out at me very clearly in the Plant Contract. We had No Pension Plan at ALL. NONE

So in Negotiations We ended up getting an Offer from the Company regarding a Profit Sharing Plan they had which was matching your contributions Dollar for Dollar back then - up to 6% of your pay check.

We took that proposal back to my Local Guys and Girls and guess what

Some of them actually did not want it because they said the Company would be in their Business too much ? That somehow the company would have more control over them?

Well we got the Plan and after about 3 years went by some of the people who decided not to get in the plan at the start - well they started looking at the statements the rest of us got each Quarter from the Profit Sharing Plan ( remember Paying 100% Match Plus Interest) and they enrolled at the next available date. Some of those people who waited to enroll for 3 years lost valuable time to start accumulating their Plan, but they still ended up retiring with well over $300,000 in their accounts and many many more got even larger account balances !!

Now the rest of the story

You know why the Company agreed to offer us that Plan ?

Because in 1974 "The Congress" - The Government" enacted the 1974 ERISA

Employee Retirement and Income Security Act that made it mandatory for employers of certain sizes that were subject to Organized Bargaining Units ( Union Contracts) to Offer workers a retirement plan that DID NOT Discriminate between Company Employee and Hourly Employee as it pertained to Retirement Benefits.

Prior to that "Awful Terrible Government " LAW- I personally knew workers who were retiring from as much as 40 years of service at some plants in the valley with as little as $40 per month Income from their so called retirement Plans??

So go ahead and listen to these screaming Idiots that say

I dont want no Govamint in my Health Care Yall"

Its almost laughable if it were not so cruel that these seniors and Others are so Scared about the "Govamint bein' in their business and such??"

Well I remember when they used similar tactics of FEAR Mongering back in the 80's when the first prescription drug law was passed by the Dems. They used that fear so well and scared so many seniors that the next year that part of the Medicare Law was taken away from Seniors !! Then Low and Behold when BUSH was in Office they(repubs) passed almost the same identical prescription drug ammendment to Medicare except they would not allow Medicare to Bargain Directly with Drug Companies for lower prices?? UNH? why did they do that ? ( Part D my friends). Well they were getting ALL that Campaign Money from those Drug Cos just before they were to be UN ELECTED. And I might add that the cost of "their Prescription Drug Law was $800 Billion Dollars over ten years and they did not show anyway to PAY FOR IT, so that is part of that Large National Debt Number we all keep seeing The Repubs flaunt around my friends.

And you know if all I was seeing now was purely Politics - I still wouldn't care for the tactics but I could live with it. But We are not just seeing "politics" at work here my friends. We are seeing more of the Smear and Fear stuff from the same party that allowed a group known as "Swift Boat Vets for Truth" in 2004 ( actually they were funded by Carl Roves friends) Smear an Honest to Goodness Decorated Vietnam Veteran who was running for President as one of their tactics. They also would be the same Party that would that Year at their Convention would not only allow but encouraged their members to trot around their convention hall with those little band aids that had a purple heart on them, mocking John Kerry and also I might add making a mockery of one of the Highest Awards Soldiers earn for being wounded in the line of duty. They even had their "people" passing those little band aids out at local stop and stops in our area back then - I personally caught one SOB doing it myself. He quit doing that Immediately my friends

I watch and I see so called grass roots ( actually PAID Political Hacks from Freedom Works) that go to meetings to do nothing more than STOP any meaningful discussion and debates about the issue because their Parent Organization( Freedom Werkz) is a Republican Backed and Funded Organization that also helped turn away legislation in the 1990' s Hillary Care as they called it

Freedom Works also helped defeat While The Republicans controlled congress and the whitehouse, the Asbestos Settlement Fund that was needed to compensate people who suffered because of that substance.

Their list of issues that they oppose reads like an ANTI anything that could benefit the real people of this country- yet many of YOU out there seem to aspire to their Chants of No Government In Health Care - Keep Government Out of My Health Care

If we can finally come to grips with that FACT and then be Thankful that the Real Americans are allowing us to live here in Their Land despite what our culture has done to them - then maybe we have hope as a people going forward.

Racism Then and Now

Seems everyday as I read through the news and read through posts in on line forums I keep asking myself that question. This is the year 2009 - Right ?
I mean you haven't just been "dreaming" that the last 30-40 years happened have you ?

I especially start asking that question when I see more and more of the so called group we know as the "Birthers". They are after all just Bigots using the subject of a birth certificate as their Disguise.

My mind wonders back to my childhood and youth days when I see these people spreading their racist screed. I remember a time in my Boyhood home of West Virginia when people openly used the "N" word like it was a Proper Term rather than the awful term it really is. I especially remember playing in several bands in the 1960's that had several members who were Black. My High School Band and a Band that Myself and two friends had put together after another band we were in broke up one year.
The Town I grew up had population of less than 25,000 and there were probably no more than 5 or 6 Black Families in the town.

This band was called Cleo's Trio and it consisted of Myself - Mark and Gene and later on Jeff .

Well as fate has it one evening after playing a job in Paden City WV at the Eagles Club we headed home ( about 12 Mid night or so ) up Rt2 toward New Martinsville WV.
This night there was only Myself, Jeff and Gene. We were in Jeff's 1966 super sport convertible. Cruising up route 2 north , just below New Martinsville there was an old roadside market ( later on a used car dealer lot ) as you were going around a bend in the road. The Market Building was close to the road and kind of hid the view on the left side of the road.

As we were rounding the bend all of a sudden there was this Large Car STOPPED directly in the middle of the road with No Lights on or anything.

Jeff was driving and pulled hard left on the wheel to try and avoid hitting this car. He did that except for the very tip of the left rear bumper. That sent our car jolting to the left hand side of the road and almost striking a Telephone Pole !!!

So Jeff pulled Hard to right on the wheel and that sent us up on our side- passengers side of the car was now on the ground spewing sparks off the pavement as we slid further north just barely missing that Pole !!

Gene was setting in the passenger seat and I was in the back seat behind him.

As we flipped again to the upright position the brakes caught hold or froze and we were stopped Suddenly - Genes Head went directly into the windshield busting it .

I was thrown from the back seat to the front seat on top of Gene.

The car flipped to the Driver Side - being the drivers door was now on the ground with sparks spewing off of it. I was thrown to the back seat this time and I saw Jeff's Arm bent backwards inside the steering wheel.

Genes head was bleeding badly. I could see little pieces of glass in his forehead.

We finally got stopped about 150 feet or so past the car that was in the road we tried to avoid hitting.

When we came to a stop I was pretty stoved up but I didn't think I was hurt that bad.

I don't know for sure how much time passed before we all three in our car became completely coherent but I finally saw a policeman coming toward the car.

I remember thinking Oh Great we are getting some help because Gene was still bleeding and Jeff looked pretty bad to me - a broken arm for sure.

As the Cop came over I heard him say,"there is a Nigger in car!!"

Then I heard him say you BOYS alright ??
I started saying that my friend in the front seat was bleeding Bad and Jeff the driver had a broken arm - the cop simply said Shut Up !!!

Then I saw a Man running up over the road bank by the car that had been stopped in the road. Then I saw the Cop go over to the Lady behind the wheel and say something I could not hear. Then she drove away from the scene.?

Then I think I remember Gene saying something like will this car still run Jeff?

Jeff says I don't think so Gene.

Now back comes the Cop. And then he says you gonna have to get the car out of the road Boys.

Ends up the car was going to get towed and so we asked for two things from the cop.

Help get my two friends some medical attention and could they arrange a ride for us.

The Cop looked at me because I was the one saying this and I said I have relatives in New Martinsville. He then asks who and I tell him.

I am NOT going to say the name of my relatives family their off spring still live in the area. And I know for sure they do not have the same beliefs as My Relative had.

Anyway the COP agrees to give us a ride into New Martinsville after I told him I have this relative and he says he knows that relative. He does not agree to medical care for any of us !!

He rides us to my relatives house and he goes up to the door and knocks on it.
My relative comes to the door and the cop and he talk awhile. I hear the relative say to the cop " I don't care if Chris is out there or not ain't no Nigger getting in my house for nothin. "

Then the cop comes and gets back in the car and agrees to ride us to the station were we can use a telephone. We get there and call Jeff's Dad- My Parents were out of town so I couldn't call them- Had they been in town My Dad would have come down to pick us up and then he would have Whooped Some ass on that relative.

WE made it home that night. We all three healed up . No Thanks to the New Martinsville Police or My Relative. I Think this was 1966 or 1967 I was about 15 or 16 but I didn't have my drivers license yet I know that. Jeff was a year older at least and Gene was I think a Senior or just Graduated High School.

But Later on in my life I would end up opening a business in New Martinsville. In the late 1990's.

I would also end up being able to confront the MAN that I saw running from that Car that Night and the COP who had treated us that way he did back then.

I would also be able to witness some of these same Individuals that treated us that way that night still Practice their Racism. In the 1990's and early 2000's until I finally got out of New Martinsville because of a Flood.

Some of them would meet at a local restaurant in the early mornings and have breakfast. I also would eat there at that same time since I was renting off the owner of the restaurant who is now deceased.

They would set around the table in the morning talking and using the "N" word at will until a fellow who was a Bass Fisherman ( an Black I might add) would come in for his Coffee - then it was all Buddy Buddy with him while he was there. When he would leave they would even make comments about him behind his back. Racial Comments.

Big Brave Old Men. Who claimed they were Good CHRISTIANS. Hell the owner even had Pray Breakfast meetin' and such at the place??

There was also an Old Fellow who I became good friends with "Ted" was his name.
He visited this same restaurant almost everyday. And yes TED was a Black Man.

He probably was in his Eighties then. I enjoyed his company very much and many times at breakfast he and I would set together and I would listen to his stories as Old Men are known to tell. Recalling his younger years as a Basketball standout and how he worked at the Post Office In New York City for many years.

I really liked him he was a Good Man. But then when TED would leave I could hear the Big Brave Men start their Shit all over again. You see I think Ted was having a few money problems toward the end of his life and the Owner of the Place had let him run up a tab for his meals. One Morning I Heard the Owner tell his waitress at the cash register- "don't let that Nigger charge anything else or you will have to pay for his meals"
He wouldn't tell TED that to his face or even ask him to pay right then. TED generally came around after his Social Security check came and paid off the full bill every month. The Owner Had been the one to Offer TED this benefit in the beginning I know because I was present when he first offered it to TED.

You see my friends I keep remembering these things as I hear and see the Modern Day Version of Racism!!! I cant help it - it wont go away!!!

And you know the worse part? I don't know if it will ever go away?

I used to think after all the Old Racists Die off and the Young Folks come along maybe things will be different? Well I am starting to question that Idea as I see more and more Young So Called Conservatives Buy into the Racist Screed being Populated on the Airwaves on the Internet and elsewhere by people like Glenn Beck, Hannity, Dobbs The so called BIRTHERS ?.

This is Just my personal thoughts and experiences I have lived through, A Few of them anyway. It is not a scientific study or a focus group study or a political Group Study.

The attacks against any reform of our health care system is not surprising and the arguments being used are not either.

The fact that the Anti Reform Crowd - largely Republicans but also the so called Blue Dog Democrats - use the term "socialist" or "socialism" is of no surprise to me at all.

That term(s) have been given a negative light in our society ever since the Republicans and So Called Conservatives gained control of our Government in the 1980's !!

Lets talk about what Socialist means in The United States of America.

One If you have ever been a Union Member - then you are a socialist.
If you belong to a group that serves to help your profession gain better working conditions or better eduction for your members - you are socialist
If you have ever gotten a check from the US Govt or Paid them Taxes you are a Socialist

You see in large Part we ALL are really socialists right now, you just dont want or can not understand that you already are my friends.

Socialism or being a socialist is nothing bad or wrong at all.

We would not have a Social Security System had we not already adopted that aspect of Socialism

Likewise we would not have Medicare either !!

Certainly we would have Never gotten any Work Place Reforms without the Union Movement in this country and Yes Unions are Socialism at What I consider its best.

So when I speak of socialism and the Union Movement and what it brought to us all in this country I know what I speak of I lived through it and I experienced First Hand what a group of committed people can achieve when they join together in a common goal- which really is what socialism is all about.

There would be No Minimum Wage, No 8 hour or 40 hour work rules had there not been Unions that Lobbied Congress for the laws that put such things into place. Your Retirement from your employer would still be largely at the whim of your employer had it not been for the 1974 ERISA ( Employee Retirement Security Act)
And there would have been no ERISA without Unions putting the pressure on Congress.

There also would have never been any Health And Safety Regulations to protect you in the work place without Socialist People Like Myself and Others in Union Leadership Positions and just everyday Union Members pitching in.

There has always existed in this country a group of people that oppose any change what so ever - when it comes to the benefits for the average working People. We call those people Republicans my children and maybe now after they KILL the best chance we have seen in 50 years for real health care reform you will learn your lesson about Republicans !! A very smart Man once told me Never Vote for a Republican if you work for a living - I would also include the so called conservatives in today's politics in that statement.

I can remember a time when the Coal Miners in West Virginia and District 6 were on strike over contract disputes and working conditions back in the Early 1970's.
There was a Coal Company Executive head quartered in Pittsburgh PA who came on the News one evening after Months and Months of struggle by the Coal Miners to get and Equitable Settlement ( it was on WTAE LIVE - I remember it like it was yesterday) and This Coal Executive ( Bobby Brown) stated when asked by the local reporter how long did he expect the strike to last Mr. Coal Executive Brown answered in this Fashion....

Let them stay out on strike until their Babies Shit runs like piss then we will talk to them Maybe again - to whit he walked off the camera shot leaving the reporter standing there dumb founded .

Whistleblower Tells on Industry

When an insurance firm boss saw a field hospital for the poor in Virginia, he knew he had to speak out. Here, he tells Paul Harris of his fears for Obama's bid to bring about radical change.

Wendell Potter can remember exactly when he took the first steps on his journey to becoming a whistleblower and turning against one of the most powerful industries in America.

It was July 2007 and Potter, a senior executive at giant US healthcare firm Cigna, was visiting relatives in the poverty-ridden mountain districts of northeast Tennessee. He saw an advert in a local paper for a touring free medical clinic at a fairground just across the state border in Wise County, Virginia.

Potter, who had worked at Cigna for 15 years, decided to check it out. What he saw appalled him. Hundreds of desperate people, most without any medical insurance, descended on the clinic from out of the hills. People queued in long lines to have the most basic medical procedures carried out free of charge. Some had driven more than 200 miles from Georgia. Many were treated in the open air. Potter took pictures of patients lying on trolleys on rain-soaked pavements.

For Potter it was a dreadful realisation that healthcare in America had failed millions of poor, sick people and that he, and the industry he worked for, did not care about the human cost of their relentless search for profits. "It was over-powering. It was just more than I could possibly have imagined could be happening in America," he told the Observer

Potter resigned shortly afterwards. Last month he testified in Congress, becoming one of the few industry executives to admit that what its critics say is true: healthcare insurance firms push up costs, buy politicians and refuse to pay out when many patients actually get sick. In chilling words he told a Senate committee: "I worked as a senior executive at health insurance companies and I saw how they confuse their customers and dump the sick: all so they can satisfy their Wall Street investors."

Potter's claims are at the centre of the biggest political crisis of Barack Obama's young presidency. Obama, faced with 47 million Americans without health insurance, has put reforming the system at the top of his agenda. If he succeeds, he will have pushed through one of the greatest changes to domestic policy of any president. If he fails, his presidency could be broken before it is even a year old. Last week, in a sign of how high the stakes are, he addressed the nation in a live TV news conference. It is the sort of event usually reserved for a moment of deep national crisis, such as a terrorist attack. But Obama wanted to talk about healthcare. "This is about every family, every business and every taxpayer who continues to shoulder the burden of a problem that Washington has failed to solve for decades," he told the nation.

Obama's plans are now mired and the opponents of reform are winning. The Republican attack machine has cranked into gear, labelling reform as "socialist" and warning ordinary Americans that government bureaucrats, not doctors, will choose their medicines. The bill's opponents say the huge cost can only be paid by massive tax increases on ordinary Americans and that others will have their current healthcare plans taken away. Many centrist Democratic congressmen, wary of their conservative voters, are wavering. The legislation has failed to meet Obama's August deadline and is now delayed until after the summer recess. Many fear that this loss of momentum could kill it altogether.

To Potter that is no surprise. He has seen all this before. In his long years with Cigna he rose to be the company's top PR executive. He had an eagle-eye view of the industry's tactics of scuppering political efforts to get it to reform. "This is a very wealthy industry and they use PR very effectively. They manipulate public opinion and the news media and they have built up these relationships with all these politicians through campaign contributions," Potter said.

Potter was witness to the campaign against Michael Moore's healthcare documentary Sicko. The industry slammed the film as one-sided and politically motivated. Secret documents leaked from the American Health Insurance Plans, the industry's lobby group, detailed the plan to paint Moore as a fringe radical. Potter now says the film "hit the nail on the head". "The Michael Moore movie that I saw was full of truth," he admits.

Potter was also working for Cigna when it became embroiled in the case of Nataline Sarkisyan, whose family went public after Cigna refused to pay for a liver transplant that it considered "experimental" and therefore not covered by their policy. Cigna reversed this decision only hours before the Californian teenager died. "I wish I could have done more in that case," Potter said.

Such sentiments are rare in an industry that has given America a healthcare system that can be cripplingly expensive for patients, but that does not produce a healthier population. The industry is often accused of wriggling out of claims. Firms comb medical records for any technicality that will allow them to refuse to pay. In one recently publicised example, a retired nurse from Texas discovered she had breast cancer. Yet her policy was cancelled because her insurers found she had previously had treatment for acne, which the dermatologist had mistakenly noted as pre-cancerous. They decreed she had misinformed them about her medical history and her double mastectomy was cancelled just three days before the operation.

Last month three healthcare executives were grilled about such "rescinding" tactics by a congressional subcommittee. When asked if they would abandon them except in cases of deliberately proven fraud, each executive replied simply: "No."

To Potter that attitude has a sad logic. The healthcare industry generates enormous profits and its top executives have a lavish corporate lifestyle that he once shared. Treating patients for their expensive conditions is bad for business as it reduces the bottom line. Kicking out patients who pursue claims makes perfect economic sense. "It is a system that is rigged against the policyholder," Potter said. The congressional probe found that just three firms had rescinded more than 20,000 policyholders between 2003 and 2007, saving hundreds of millions. "That's a lot of money that will now go towards their profits," Potter said.

A lot of that money also goes into contributions to politicians of both parties - $372m in the past nine years - and in lobbying groups to run TV ads slamming Obama's plans. Many of these ads deploy naked scare tactics. One report said that the industry was spending $1.4m a day on its campaign. In the face of that, it is perhaps no wonder that the Senate has delayed its vote, dealing a massive blow to Obama. "I have seen how the opponents of healthcare reform go to work... they are trying to delay action. They know that if they keep the process going for months, and turn it into a big mess, then the political impetus behind it will lessen," Potter said.

Potter, who now works at the Centre for Media and Democracy in Wisconsin, says the industry is afraid of Obama's reforms and that is why it is fighting so hard. It wants to deal him the same blow as it did Bill Clinton when it scuppered his attempt at reform in the 1990s. Potter admits that he is worried the industry might win again. "I have seen their tactics work. I have been a part of it," he said. He knows he has no chance of ever working again for a major firm. "I am a whistleblower and corporate America does not tend to like that," he said. But there is one thing Potter is not sorry about: leaving the healthcare industry and speaking out. "I have absolutely no regrets. I am doing the right thing," he said.

Comprehensive healthcare reform in the US has been an ambition of many presidents since the early part of the 20th century. None has succeeded in creating a system that gives all Americans the right to coverage. Barack Obama, below, is desperate to avoid the same fate.

Finding a Cure

What is the Current System?

It is a complex mish-mash of systems. Millions of Americans have their own private healthcare plans, either individually or through their employer. About 47 million Americans have none. However, systems do exist to cover the very poor and the old. The system is fiendishly complex and full of loopholes, so even those with coverage can have it withdrawn.

How Bad is It?

US hospitals are the best in the world if you can afford them. Many cannot, and an accident or sudden illness can often bankrupt someone.

How Does it Compare With Other Countries?

It depends how you measure things. The US spends about 16% of GNP on healthcare, far more than France and Germany, which spend 11 to 12%. Yet those countries provide universal care.

What is the Biggest Problem?

Critics say the biggest issue is the profit motive that drives US healthcare. This ensures that costs are always rising as the incentive is there to provide expensive treatment. It also gives health insurers the incentive to refuse treatment to claimants, by seeking to withdraw their cover.

What is Obama's Solution?

Obama has asked Congress to draw up a government option, allowing all Americans to get some sort of cover. The sheer size of the state plan should theoretically allow it to drive down costs by economies of scale.

I want to make MY Position on what should be done to reform health care in our country perfectly clear to all who bother to read my blog.

So here goes !!

1) We do not need Insurance Reform so much as we Need a system that "delivers care to everybody" without any "middle men" deciding who and what is covered !!

2) Right now the Insurance Industry in the USA is performing the actions of deciding who and what gets covered for payment to the actual "Health Care Providers"

There In Lies the problem as I see it. And I say that with having some knowledge of the Insurance Industry having been an agent who sold Insurance for decades.

As Long as People are led to believe that reforming health care is a Bad Socialist , Anti Free Market, Anti Capitalist tactic - then I fear we are doomed to continue the same old Tired System that Rewards the Insurance Industry and Pharm Cos with enormous Profits while we the people suffer the effects of that system in the form of Higher Costs and less real care being delivered to the people who need it the most - The Sick

Now given that the insurers control the Money flow of both Health Care Providers and that of the Campaign Funds to Politicians that Right Now are setting in control of the very committees that are deciding this issue - doesn't it seem to you that Real Progress is not likely to happen as long as we keep the same model we use right now?? The Profit Model as opposed to the model we should be using that would provide every single American Citizen with Health Care with no Middle Men in the process.

I have posted about the British System and the Canadian System and how every single person in those countries gets Health Care without Exclusion of Preexisting Conditions, and With Very Low Cost for Prescriptions to mention just a few superior aspects of their systems.

In Other words I am saying we need to Completely Do away With the Private For Profit System we have right now and implement a Total 100% Government National Socialistic Plan very similar to Britain's National Health Service. PERIOD.

Anything less will Not end up benefiting us the people. Because the Insurers and the Big PharmCos will still be in control of Payments-Coverage- Reimbursements to Docs and Hospitals and so on.

As Long as those For Profit Middle Men are in control of the Money and therefore the Health Care we receive - Nothing will really change except in face value only . There will Not Be any significant Improvement in our actual Delivery of Care to not only the Uninsured but the Under Insured in our Country.

Insurers and Pharm Cos do not provide us with Health Care - they simply "market" or "sell" the services to us. They do not and have never been a contributor to improving our system for our benefit but only for Their and their Share Holders Benefit. It has been and will be all about Profit and not about Quality or Quantity of Care to ue

I remember in the late 1970's when Health Insurance Premiums began to skyrocket. The Industry Answer was simply offering "higher Deductibles" to the consumer/patient. So as Workers wages starting losing ground to inflation over the following decades and Jobs started going Overseas and Plants were closing - what did the health Insurers do - why of course they raised premiums and offered even Higher deductibles and now a new form of so called "self Insurance" the Health Saving Plan.( Some of the New Deductibles The Insurers are offering are as high as $20,000 ??) And at the same time they continued and even stepped up Exclusionary Contracts that denied coverage for preexisting conditions, allowed them to rescind policies back to the begin date and not provide any coverage at all if they thought you may have lied on an application for insurance and so on. The pattern was set and we are still in that pattern of Deny Coverage- Increase Costs to the consumer and They Like the system just the way it is.

Unfortunately - MANY POLITICIANS in BOTH Parties like it too. They get HUGE AMOUNTS of Money from Insurers and Pharm Cos every time they ask for campaign funds ?? And the Insurers and Pharm Cos are all too happy to provide those funds in return for Favorable Treatment on Legislative matters that they feel infringes on their industry. ( Translation - they BUY VOTES and Laws )

I wont bother posting all the lists that are available about the Politicians who take their money but you can find it easily using Google.

So what are we to do as Americans? How are we to enforce our wishes upon the congress of the USA?
Do we have the same clout as the Insurers and Big Pharms do?

I doubt we do - but one thing is for sure - we can not afford to do nothing or things will only get worse Not Better under the Private for Profit System we have now. History over the last several decades PROVES that to us.

Do what you can- Join up with a Group that is advocating for Real Reform
Donate some money to help those groups get the word out and maybe some pressure of the Congress

For of One Thing I am certain - if we continue down the road we are on now with Health Care in the USA - we will drop even lower than number 37 in the rankings of nations that provide health care to its people. And We Are THE ONLY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT DOES NOT PROVIDE UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE for Our People.

The Fact we are still having a debate about how to Cover Everyone is SAD in and of itself.

Oh By The Way - can you name the Industry That has No - NONE - Nada- Federal Regulation what so Ever ??? The Insurance Industry that is who !!! Each state "regulates" insurance via the Commissioner Concept - which in general simply means they can BUY OFF only one person in each state and it really makes it much less costly for them to Regulate Themselves that way don't ya Think ??

Health Care and the Future

Well if those of you out there that have been so opposed to reform of the health care system bothered to watch the President last night you will have learned that he and the congress are at least trying to do what is right for the country.

There are those in Congress in Both Political Parties that are simply against any reform because they are on the payroll of the Big Insurers and Big Pharma. I have given you lists of some of those before in my blogs.

What I want to address in this installment is simply how the President tied in the fact that Health Care reform is more than just doing what is right for Americans and addressing the Uninsured Problem but also getting at the "administrative Costs and Waste" in the system now. He specifically brought up the $80 Billion the Pharm Co's have already said they will give up because they are scared of any reform going any further - and they then would lose even more of the Waste and Fraud they get rich from everyday( My Words not Presidents). That is ONE example of how he has already forced the INDUSTRY to start to clean up their act and give back some of the Ill Gotten Gains they have been squeezing from the pockets of people who are sick and can least afford the kind of Milking the Health Care Industry does routinely to sick and dying patients.

He also tied in the FACT that he was left with an Enormous Deficit going forward by the last administration. If he and congress did nothing but continue the same policies put in place by the Bush Administration the USA would have a 10 year deficit of over $9.5 TRILLION

That is $ 9.5 Trillion my friends that the Bush-Repubican Controlled Government until 2007 put upon the backs of the American People. Not this congress, Not this President but the Previously "conservative" controlled Congress and Whitehouse !!!!

And because of some of the already enacted legislation such as the Recovery Act,the Budget and Supplemental enacted under this president and congress that 10 year deficit will be approx $7.3 Trillion instead of the $9.5 Trillion . And not only has that 10 year deficit been reduced by 2.5 trillion dollars but the Economy has been pulled back from the edge of destruction that was imminent when Bush and the CONSERVATIVES were running the show. There is NO QUESTION that had this president and the new congress Not Acted as they have ( although I did not agree with the TARP) we would have faced a Total Melt Down of our economy and possibly a failure of our entire way of life !!! That is without Question. BUT there are still some in congress that feel the need to act out of their "Political" stands rather than actually helping to solve our problems.

The House Minoroty Leader John Bone Head Boehner is one of them !!! He went on the floor yesterday ahead of the news conference last nigt to say " He didn't think we averted financial Disaster" ?? Really then why did he VOTE FOR THE TARP ??? WHY DID HE SIDE with the previous President and Hank Paulsen to Bail Out the BANKS ???

You see the problem I have with so called "conservatives" is that They ARE NOT AT ALL CONSERVATIVE

The Other evening I got involved in a little back and forth in a thread on a POLL I took over at Face book. I Know I shouldn't be involved in those Made Up POLLS when it comes to Politics at Face book but Hey - I was Bored., OK?

Anyway - at one point when I injected the topic of National Health Care things heated up to say the least, one crazy conservative over there suggested I go Live In Cuba, to which I replied "privately" in the email acct at face book telling them to NOT Tell Me where to live. I had defended My Country and was a Citizen.

Then here is where things turned FUGLY

The person replied to me in private saying I was first off a panzy because I used the private messg system at face book? UM? Then they unloaded with this little ditty

You can be the judge but I took it to mean she was WHITE as opposed to Black like our President which was the principal subject at the time in the thread.

The BIG MONEY being spent to air commercials on TV is being spent by the Health Insurance Industry and its agents and co-horts in the fleecing of America all in the name of the So Called "Best Health Care" in the World.

Those opposing health care reform cite Canada saying we dont want a system like theirs because they don't get the care they need?? That is BULLSHIT. If you repeat Bullshit enough times some ignorant people start to believe the bullshit - like many are today. Parents being paid to go on TV and say they dont want Government taking over their Health Care ?? NOBODY and NO PLAN introduced thus far even comes close to that !!! And in my mind unfortunately the so called reform will not ever come close to a true Government Plan. (Which Is What I Believe we need).

What will Happen is a Blended Mix of Reform Like Options and also Large Loopholes being placed in the Bills that favor Health Insurance Carriers because they are spending te Money they need to BUY OFF Weak ASS Democrats Like Ben Nelson in the Senate and Joe the "Traitor" Leiberman

My point today is this , just because you say you are a good christian,muslim,jew or what ever - does not make you what you think you are. Only your ACTIONS and LIFE will determine that. PERIOD.

This post is of course a continuation of the theme I am stuck on about some "conservatives " disguising their true beliefs.

A few cases in point are some of the so called "religious" groups that in fact are Hate Groups or White Supremiscist Groups in disguise.

So I want to emphasize to my conservative friends to be careful who you associate yourselves with on the web or otherwise - you might not know who they really are. Then again, maybe you do know who they really are. If that is the case that you do really know these associateions and you still subscribe to their beliefs - then take me off your list of friends and consider me One of your Enemies.

This post is a sort of continuation or at least in relation to my previous post about my "dentist appointment". It is important I think to note that the Tirade was brought on by my simply wearing a Ball Hat that referenced two democrats I supported in last years election of 2008 at the local level.

During the Tirade I mention in that post, one of the the aspects of that tirade by the so called conservative dentist was that he was impressed by Sara Palin and that she would come back from her - quitting. But moreover he stated emphatically that he was proud to have been at the rally in Ohio for Palin during the election campaign where 5000 people attended in St Clairsville Oh during a "week night". He somehow thought that was a huge accomplishment. The fact he mentioned that rally got me more than a little angry with him ( not just because he had me captive in his chair under sedation and Novocaine but because I remember that rally clearly)

I clearly remembered this rally because I had watched it on Youtube the day after it took place. The young man in the video is from the city in question and he is shocked by the level of Bigotry and Racism in the crowd as you can see and hear.

I will be posting even more about this topic on a continued basis, I will not be silent about Racism - I will not allow those around me to get away with using a political label to evade their true intentions regarding violence against the president of the United States of America.

I am NOT AFRAID of people like in this video for they are really cowards.
They can spread LIES- Use such immature tactics as name calling - and yes even threaten violence BUT - FEAR is not of the one of the emotions that raises within me when shit like this happens. You know ever since President Obama got elected ( and before ) we have had to listen to the so called "conservatives" whine and bitch and moan about almost everything and anything the President and/or the Democrats or Liberals as they call call us have proposed or done.

Yesterday it went to a new LOW.

While at the dentist ( I thought a friend of mine) and in his Chair under sedation and pretty much "captive". I was forced to listen to a continual tirade of anti anything Obama and or Democrat. I had worn a Hat I own, actually that was given me when I attended the 2008 Kess Fest in Glendale last year and that seemed to be the stimulus that got this guy going, he saw my hat that said I was a Democrat and I backed both Jeff Kessler and Chris Kessler in last years elections.

Now I thought about just getting up and telling him to pound sand in his ass but I was already shot full of the sedative and I needed that tooth pulled. So I was forced to lay there and listen. I learned a few things that I had already suspected about some of you so called conservatives that seem to be anti Obama.

YOU are really Biggots disguised as conservatives.

This guy whom I have known for decades confides to me while in the privacy of his chair in his office that he " could not bring himself to vote for Obama.." I asked why and he gave me this Blank Look and facial gesture that I could only interpret as relating to President Obama's race. You know that secret white man look, that says all the nasty words that you wont say in public?? Yes - I was shocked and I was also alerted to the fact that there are still many Biggots among us in the 21st Century. Many of those Biggots send me email and think I find their racist statements some how "funny"? WELL I DONT

This "dentist" also referred me to his facebook pages , stating he was all about getting Obama out of office anyway he could ? Then making statements taht would lead one to believe he condoned Violence??

I detest anyone who is a racist or biggot. There is no room on our planet for such bullshit. We are Human Beings all of us are human beings.

For those who dont know, during the 2004 election cycle I was personally a victim of discrimination because of my Political Affiliation. To the extent I was evicted from my Business Rental, had my business probed by powers that be because I was supporting the Democrat in the National Election of 2004. I was pretty much forced out of business because I was not a Republican or Conservative in large part.

So when this "dentist" pulled his Political Speak on me when I was in his chair I really got angry - I dont think he understood How Angery I was. He is Going to find out though - rest assured he will find out. I learned something from my experience in 2004 being beat down by the "conservatives". DONT TAKE THEIR SHIT LYING DOWN. And believe me I aint this time.

First Step is I will no longer give him my business

2nd step I may consider turning him in to the secret service for threats against the president

3rd step I am listening to everything you "conservatives" say in a different way nowadays so YOU ARE WARNED

I found it at least Ironic that during all this Political Tirade I was enduring from this "dentist" he in the same breath told me he would not be in on Friday at the Office because he had to go to the Northern Regional Jail to treat Prisoners there. He said he was having trouble with the administrator there about something but then stated Oh Well it is a Paycheck ?? Oh well it is a paycheck you say DOC?

What about the Socialist Government you were whinning about when I had to listen to your bullshit ? What about how GOVERNMENT was going to ruin the economy under Obama and the democrats. What about that ?

I wonder what Bush will say in his 40-minute speech. I'm sure it will be sprinkled with patriotism, independence, and how we were only attacked once during his presidency.

Maybe he'll talk about how going to war in Iraq helped move oil from less than $25 to $147 a barrel. If oil could go to six times it's price, maybe cattle could go to $6 a pound, or each cow could have six calves in one year.

That $4 a gallon fuel put many people behind on their stretched mortgages and kind of turned our economy into a tailspin. That money ended up in the pockets of his campaign contributors, so it should be a fair trade.

I doubt if he will talk about 4,300 American soldiers killed in Iraq or the 30,000 maimed for life. Or the haunting memories of thousands of others who watched it all happen.

The Iraqi people suffered the greatest loss of property and life, but I doubt if there is time to mention them in a 40-minute speech.

He could touch on torture for a few minutes. Bush said America did not torture, which is partly true because most Americans would not torture a fellow human being. Bush and Cheney had to torture to back up faulty intelligence and extract information to suit their story of why we invaded Iraq. So that must mean it's okay.

I often wondered why a man would commit suicide to kill my son in Iraq. I guess if we treated his son, brother or cousin in a sub-human way with our torture techniques, it would compel him to take revenge on the first American he could find.

The war is depressing to all but Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater and others who profit. So my guess is, Bush will stick to our independence or maybe mention SEC watching Madoff, or how he firmed up the banks with our tax dollars.

The story of how the big banks failing would cause a major economic collapse reminds me of another story he told about weapons of mass destruction that were never found.

On second thought, I've heard his stories before and I'm short one family member because of him. So, I'll pass on George's speech this 4th of July.

Our Great State has been the "victim" of many onslaughts waged by Industry Over the years. They always lured us away from the farms and hills by promising a better life and jobs that paid good wages. Offering benefits and packages of benefits that we could not resist if we loved our families.

Steel - Glass - Coal- Timber- Power Generation - you name it.

Yes, West Virginia has always been the place business came to exploit not only our resources but our people. Some would say it is because we are a poor state and region ( and they are partially correct there). It is harder for us ( at least in the past) to organize any resistance to the efforts of Industry to take advantage of our people and resources because of the size of our population, a little more than 1.8 million I believe in our entire state nowadays. There are many cities with larger populations than ours !!

West Virginians are Hard working people, we never have been a people that looked for a handout. We are born of self reliant stock. Mainly German, Irish, Scotts and Native Americans and African Americans who have always had to work for what we have.

So today when I see the waste land that once was wonderful mountains and beautiful forest that have existed since the Pleistocene era and even before.
I wonder When will it end ???

When will we as a people in West Virginia say enough is enough and tell Industry and their Captains to stop Blowing the hell out of Mountains and removing earth that has existed for Millions of Years simply to try and profit from the coal that they now see as the Saviour of our Economy. Which is of course a large Lie in and of itself. Coal can not and will not be the answer to our economic woes. We are destroying our planet by burning it and we are destroying ourselves by using it as well - Mercury Poisoning is the result of Coal Burning.

As I write this Blog the Captains of Industry are exploding somewhere around 2500 tons of explosives EACH DAY in In Appalachia, the equivalent of One Hiroshima Bomb each week !!!!

It brings to my mind that old folk song, How many times must a poor boy cry before you call him a man, Yes and how many Bombs ..... The answer had better not be blowin' in the wind this time my friends !!! For if we do not Stand Up Against the forces of Industry we will no longer have any Mountains and we will no longer be Healthy enough to live any sort of life we would want to. The Mercury produced burining Coal is a Clear and Present Danger to everyones health.

Only Plutonium is rated more dangerous than Mercury to Humans.

To those who believe the "jobs" created by these Mountain Top Removal companies are something we need ?? Well Guess again, when they are done with you and have ripped the tops of the mountains away ( over 500 mountains so far) they will discard you like they have every other worker and town and County in the past.

The Ohio Valley used to be the example of Good Jobs and several Industries like Coal , Steel, Chemicals etc... with Good Paying Jobs !!! Where are we now??

More Walmarts - More Cabellos - More Fast Food and have they (Industry) ever come to your house and even said they are sorry for killing your loved ones that died from Cancers caused by their products ? Have they ever said here is some money to help the survivors of our Pollution maintain their health ?

THE ONLY times they have even come close to this is when they were dragged into court and Forced to do the things they should have done voluntarily if they were good corporate citizens.

Happy Birthday America

Well its July4th ( almost) and another Birthday for our Country is upon us.
It is good that once each year we stand together and remember the Dream of America. And hopefully renew our own efforts to creating a better Country and World for our Children and Grandchildren to live in.

America is an has always been since its founding, a melting pot of people and cultures. Granted we pretty much stole the land from its rightful owners but I would like to think that over time and going forward we as a People can continue to create a better life for all .

We have our divisions that is for sure- but that is also our strength. We in this country have a system that allows us to peacefully solve our differences without bloodshed. ( Except for our Civil War).

As I look around the world situation in this day and age I see more and more people aspiring to be free and independent. We would hope that in some small part our country and its dream have helped lead those people to their destiny as free people.

Of course over the last 8 years we have given reason to those who view us as Invaders to Doubt our own foundations as a free people. But - those waves of right wing idiocy come and go in our country from time to time. And the example we set forth by overcoming those radicals within our own system by using the "system" to take back our government is a sound one- and I might add one we should hold in reverence and Not Take Lightly.

There are those who now question the President and his Policies.
They are free to do so in our country without fear of reprisal.
Although I will note that was not the case over the last 8 years in the previous administration. There were more than DOZENS of cases - some taken to court - that clearly showed the Bush-Cheney Administration was willing to Knock Down our freedoms to keep us silent about their Policies and Decisions. I remember a couple in Charleston WV that was arrested during the 2004 election season for simply carrying an anti bush sign near a campaign rally. I was personally evicted from a rental space by my landlord ( who has since passed on) for displaying Pro Kerry Literature and working on the Campaign of General Wes Clark before that. I held Vigils at my place of business ( location after being evicted) calling for the return of Troops from IRAQ and voicing my support for the Troops as well. I was called everything in the book - Terrorist, Communist, Queer - asshole you name it . People drove by my Candle Light Vigils screaming at me all sorts of Insults. Didnt matter then and doesnt matter now.
I like many people across this country thought then ( and still now) that Invading Iraq was a senseless act of war that did not have to be done.

We were supposed to be after Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan ? Which Now Under the leadership of President Obama we are once again going after the SOB's that actually attacked us on Sept 11th 2001. Our Marines are engaged as I write this in the largest action of War since the Fallujah IRAQ operation in 2004.

WHY did it take until now for us to do what was stated we were going to do after Sept 11th under BUSH ??

Get that SOB Osama Bin Laden - we owe him Big Time- Pay Back is a MF and we deserve to get us some. No Thanks to Bush-Cheney and the Lets Invade Iraq Crowd.

Lets remember the dream of America and lets not forget those among us that tried to take that dream away (from us all) over the last 8 years either. They are still among us and could rise again if we are not Vigilant.

For those who are now voicing their dissent regarding the current administration and its policies - watch very close and see how you are treated under this president.

I will Bet You - you will not get treated like we did under BUSH.

I support your right to dissent even if I TOTALLY DISAGREE with you on almost everything you say or believe in.

Even if all you are is a cover for the republican party ??
Even if you are a group saying Democrats are unpatriotic
Even if You think people like me a SOCIALIST are not "REAL AMERICANS"
Even if you (when you had the power) used it to try and stifle those of us who spoke up about the War on Iraq and other subjects.

The Dream of America and being American is Much more than simply waiving a flag or standing behind your political party or an Ideology.

Being American is about understanding Basic Human Rights and being willing to Give Everything you have ( including your life) to uphold the fundamental Universal Human Rights that were set forth in our own Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.

War's Toxic Legacy is the headline

As I read the local paper today this was the headline. And then it states 4 local soldiers have joined in a law suit against "contractor "KBR" - Dick Cheney just never stops giving does he?

But I want to be very serious in writing about this topic. Because it seems in EVERY WAR you people have sent us to fight in- you have also allowed us (Veterans) to be devastated by the elements like this new one "hexavalent chromium" ( actually this one isnt new- it has been known for decades that it is a Very Dangerous Carcinogen).

You may recall the Movie which detailed the Poisoning in California ( Erin Brockovich) well this is that same chemical.

Only now - our own soldiers are getting sick and dying because of it and likely it will be shown that KBR knew all about it (DUH).

To those Vets Today suffering from the exposure to this and other dangerous stuff you inhaled - ate - or were forced to languish in while Over There. Hang Tough my brothers and Sisters.

There is one soldier from my hometown listed in the paper and the front picture shows a soldier who has already died as of the result from exposure.

The 1092 Engineering Battalion National Guard has nearly 50 soldiers nationwide who have filed in this lawsuit against KBR.

I and many many other Old Vets were warning of exposure to Depleted Uranium early on in this current war. Others were warning of other types of exposures to various elements that were brought into the conflict by "The Contractors"

Of course KBR ( just like profit pigs before them ) are claiming you cant get sick from exposure to this element.

I am going to repeat something here and I want every swinging SOB out there to hear me Loud and Clear !!!!

AGENT ORANGE !!! Remember this one ??? How F**king long did it take our own Government to fess up on that one - hun??

Men and Women who give their selves to their country when it calls deserve Far Better than the treatment they will likely get after this WAR. Like in all wars.

You People - Like to cheerlead us into these damn wars then you simply sweep us under the rug when its over. Oh they are sick? That must be from their current employment or maybe they were smokers or Yeah Yeah Blah Blah.

So Health Care ?

The Town Meeting last night on ABC should ( if you bothered to watch) tell you who exactly is against ANY CHANGE in the current Health Care "Industry".

Emphasis on any change and "Profit " or INDUSTRY as opposed to Profession that takes care of the sick.

There was a Time in our country when Health Care was NOT a For Profit Industry but actually a Profession that was dedicated to taking care of people who needed care.

Them days is LONG GONE !!!

Ever since the Industry went to a For Profit Structure it has gone steadily and slowly Down hill - as far as " patients " are concerned.

If you really want to know who is Opposed to any reform in Health Care- follow the Money and the Line of arguments ( like last night) from Drug Companies-Hospitals-Doctors-etc etc. You get the picture.

There was NOT an Over abundance of Ordinary People that need health care represented last night in that group and that Obvious Fact should tell you WHO wants to maintain the system as it is. Rather than making sure everyone in America has access to affordable health care.

People who do not have insurance right now or are "under insured" need the help and they have needed the help for decades. It has not been that long ago that My Family sacrificed our own Health because we did not have Insurance because we could not afford the COST of It at that time- it has only got more costly since then by the way.

I know what it is to struggle with the concept of putting off the care your family needs so that you can pay the Mortgage and Utilities or buy your food.

So when I hear people from "The Industry" ( Doctors-Insurance Co''s- Drug Co's etc) making arguments that our system is the best in the world?? I wonder How bad off is the rest of world then? In our Country we have over 46 Million UNINSURED and who the hell knows how many Under Insured people we have.

I have a background in the Insurance Industry ( I am a reformed Sales Agent) And I know why the Insurance Companies exist - TO MAKE MONEY - simply - and only for that purpose, they have "share Holders Now".

The Companies " Have always Cherry Picked from the POOL of possible insureds so that they could "exclude those people that have conditions they Actually might have to pay for care on" SHAZAAM SAM. Isnt that why Insurance is supposed to exist in the first place ???? The Law of Large Numbers was and I expect is still widely quoted in the insurance realm. Meaning a large enough pool of people sharing in the risk can bring down the cost ?? OK - then if the Insurers are "excluding people by default" then how in the hell is the law of large numbers being used ?? It is but it is being used to DENY BENEFITS to those who need it most and therefore Pad the Profit Sucking Pockets of Insurance Companies and Doctors and Drug Companies.

I hear the occassional person who says if we get National Health Care we will lose our choice ?? Really - what choice do you have now my friend? You can only get the care that YOUR DOLLARS will buy you personally right now - the insurers have seen to that along with te Drug Cos and Docs. Some say if we had Socialized Care like in ALL OF THE REST of Developed WORLD ( we are after all the ONLY COUNTRY that does not have universal care for all its people) we would be worse off than now ?? HOW SO ?? If we all are "covered" and we then have people going to the Doctor rather than waiting for the illness to become severe- that person now is More Healthy. I am describing exactlt what takes place now under our "system"

People put off care early on because they dont have insurance or They Have Insurance and the COMPANY has excluded a pre existing condition and the Patient does not have the money to pay for the care they need.

If we want to make sure we Americans can live Healthy Productive Lives then we should want to REFORM this Profit Hunting System we now call "Our Health Care System".

Profits are not everything - many many organizations exist in a Non Profit Universe that are productive and Caring Organizations across the world.

And Again we are the ONLY Industrialized Country that DOES NOT give our ouwn citizens Universal Health Care. ( We are paying for Every IRAQI to have health care right now -go figure)

So you want Health Care Reform - follow the money and Arguments to see WHO is Trying to PREVENT it from Happening.

Then take a stand AGAINST THEM

I keep hearing on the news that Republican Senators and Congress People want President Obama to "put more teeth" into his remarks on IRAN??

What is it you want him to do?

Should he be Belligerent like Bush used to be and get us into a war?

Should be Urge them( the Iranian people ) to "Rise Up" like Bush HW did in IRAQ after the Desert Storm ordeal only to allow them to be Killed By Sadam??

One of those times just occurred when I heard those Iranians listening to their Supreme Leader speaking Friday at Prayers - and they repeatedly called out Death to America. Now usually, I would just say Screw em and forget it.

But something struck a chord with me listening to the speech on CSPAN just now.
It reminded me a little of a Bush-Cheney Rally during the 2004 Elections. I am serious it did.

You know ever since President Obama got elected ( and even before) tere have been people spreading LIES and Untruths about the President. Now they appear to be attacking "everything" he does or proposes. In Case they haven't looked around or been paying attention, the economy is actually starting to show signs of life again- post the financial ruin the "conservatives and right wingers" brought upon this great land under Bush - Cheney and the Neo Con Hoard over the last 8 years.

Now they are attacking his Selection for the Court, his health care proposals - you name it.

It appears that what I thought during the pre-election is actually True.
Most of these so called "conservatives and right wingers are nothing more than Closet Racists and Bigots. They are outraged that a "Black Man" is now the President. They are willing to do anything - even support the likes of that asshole Von Braun who killed the Security Guard at the Holocaust Museum the other day.

I also keep getting emails from people that are "spreading lies" about almost anything President Obama attempts to accomplish.

Honor and Courage belongs to Them

Those "soldiers" that went forward and then carried on throughout World War 2 both deserve and command our everlasting Thanks and the Honor that only goes to those who have served and sacrificed for all.

On this 65th anniversary of D-Day ( June 6 1944 ) when the allied forces launched the invasion of Normandy and then began the Liberation of Europe we all should stop and give thanks to them. They were Soldiers.

The vast majority of them were not "professional soldiers", but instead were citizen soldiers either Drafted or Volunteer that went into the hell of WW2 on that Day in June 1944.

From that day forward they would Liberate Concentration Camps and save Millions of Lives throughout Europe from the Nazi Oppressors.

I am Linking to the US Army site here ( because I was ARMY 1971and 1972) and I was part of the Proud Tradition set by the Men of my unit's founding Division the
8th Infantry Division "pathfinders" of WW2. They were DEEP behind Nazi Lines days before the Invasion and fed Intel back to the Commanders. They took out key Bridges and items like that ahead of the Invasion. They were "Golden Arrows".

Their " Honor and Courage " would become the hallmark of the 8th Infantry Division and specifically the 8th US Cavalry of which I was part of some 27 years later.

I am proud to have worn the "Golden Arrow " patch upon my uniform.

I am forever grateful and thankful to those "citizen soldiers" who gave the World back to the ordinary people and wrestled it away from the grasp of Hitlers Nazi Regime.

To you my Brothers I say - Well Done and Welcome Home
To those who did not make it back and made the supreme sacrifice
rest easy brothers

You will forever have a place of "Honor and Courage" in our Hearts and Minds.

President Obama starts a New Path

It should be evident to those with "common sense" that under the leadership of President Barrack Obama, we the USA, have already started to regain the Trust of the world. The Trust that Mr Cheney and Mr Bush destroyed over 8 years of "Right Wing" Nut Job foreign Policy.

I find it "interesting" that many news outlets seem to be saying " Mr Obama isn't saying anything new in his talks in the Middle East..." " He isn't making any change in policy..."

Lets pause for second and think about that kind of summary regarding President Obama's remarks and Indeed his Just Being There !

When last Mr Bush appeared in the Middle East ( before he finally left office) he was in IRAQ
and had SHOES thrown at him at a public speaking event. Shoes thrown at you in the Muslim world is a sign of Disregard or Disrespect.

President Obama spoke ( I Think ) very clearly on the situations we face regarding the "muslim world".

We (USA) must change our overall view on Muslims and Muslims must change their view of us.

All Americans are not like Cheney and Bush, actually those that are like them are in the Low Minority as was evidenced in the last election.

On the Palistine -Isreal situation I think he spoke the truth. The Jews must stop grabbing land and the Palistinians must stop using violenece against defenseless people.

Its just Common Sense - that is what President Obama is talking about, yet the media outlets are still stating he is not breaking any new ground here ?

How long has it been since "Common Sense" has prevailed in the Middle East anywhere??

How long has it been since a US President has been able to talk inside a muslim country directly to the people without being "Disrespected"?? And I might add without first Invading the country using Military force??

Has President Obama's remarks changed the whole situation in the Middle east?

No it hasn't - but then again It has made a Significant Impact on how the people of the Middle East "Percieve" the USA- and Perception is way more than Half the Battle.

Time will tell, but I believe Obama has launched a new way forward in the start of ending the Violenece in the Middle East. You could see it in their eyes, when he spoke about Gaza and Isreal, you could seeit in their eyes when he spoke about Womens Rights ( standing in A Muslim Country speaking it no less)

You could almost feel it in their hearts when he spoke about the senseless Violence AlQuida enacted upon over 3,000 People on Sept 11th ,2001.

You see the difference between the Cowboy approach of Bush-Cheney and the Common Sense appraoch using Intelligence that Obama uses is Dramatic to most people with average intelligence and above.

Compare what I just said with how FOX news is reporting on his remarks and his visits in the Middle East!!!

What is better? Invading then Talking to them or MAYBE avoiding the mistakes of the past by laying out a frame work where we can "discuss our differences" and maybe solve our problems without Violence??

Not just them but really anyone who pulled the same shit they did during the turbulent Vietnam Years in America.

Even my own relatives ask me why do you still linger on this topic?

Well the best I can explain goes something like this.

During those 10 to 15 years ( 1960 - 1975 or so) when young men were getting drafted to serve in the military and many then in Vietnam - there were those who made decisions to Serve, some made decisions to Object to service on Faith Reasons, Others said hell no we wont go and ran off to Canada AND THEN there were those who STOOD on the Side Lines and were Cheer Leaders for the Vietnam WAR but when their Country Called them they somehow found ways to Avoid service to their Country.

Mr Bush and Mr Cheney were 2 such animals. Growling from the sidelines about why we had to Go Fight and Die to save Vietnam from the so called "Domino Theory " - That if we didn't go kill North Vietnamese and VC they( Communists) would end up taking over the world - An Ideology "Communism" would Take over the world and end our way of Life.

I will give Mr Bush this much - he at least put on the Uniform ( Occassionally ) in the Air Guard, even though much of his time was spent working on his Fathers Friends Campaign for a Senate Seat in Alabama. His Father used his Influence to get him away from the possible draft he faced in one month- when he entered the Air Guard ahead of 75% of all others on the list to get into the air guard ( Back Then it was a legal way to avoid the draft - but it still was avoiding possible combat service using your "Connections". Something Very few of us had back then.

Mr. Cheney however saw fit to Cheer the War ahead and at the same time somehow get 5 different Deferments from the Draft. At one pint when asked he stated "He had more important things to attend to..."

When I say I detest Cheney I Really Mean it. He makes me sick to my stomach.

There are over 58,000 of my Brothers Names on that Black Wall in DC because of people just like Dick "Deferment" Cheney- Great Cheerleaders for War but when it comes to stepping up to do your duty - No Way. That to me is the Text Book case of a COWARD. Pure and Simple. Didn't Take a stand against the war or service in it for any reason - Got 5 Deferments from Service at all, and- Had More Important things to attend to...??? Sir - you are a COWARD in ALL CAPS.

I can Respect those who stated their Opposition to the war back then and did not serve in the Military. There were actually some of those people ( like Chris Matthews of MSNBC) who instead served in the Peace Corp. I can also respect those who said hell No We WONT GO and didn't. They resisted te draft. Some paid high costs for this also- Jail Time etc..

I have NO RESPECT for those who Like Cheney and Bush used "Connections to Avoid Service" but at the same time were Huge supporters of the Policy of War in Vietnam.

I Think most people who think they know me believe I dont like Bush - Cheney for Political Reasons. So WRONG. It is much Deeper than That.

In Fact when I entered the ARMY ( I had been raised in a Republican Home) I was mostly Republican . Shocking Isnt it.

When I came Back to the world However I swiftly went to the Courthouse and registered "Democrat", In Large Part because of NIXON.

By the way Young Mr Bush and Mr Cheney were along side Mr Nixon at the republican national convention the last time he was given the Candidacy for the president in 1972...

It has never been about Politics for me with people like these two- especially these two who overtheir 8 year Reign got us involved in another Uneeded War in IRAQ.

I guess if you lived through what many of us did, over 25 Million served in Vietnam during the 1960-1975 period. If you did that then you end up with a different perspective on life and comittment to country than say a George W Bush or a Dick "Deferment" Cheney has.

Sacrifice to many of us meant total and complete Sacrifice while to them it was a cheerleading thing.

I will Never Forgive them and people like them. I can Not.

How do you forgive the Death of 58,000 US Troops and for what?

When we left Vietnam in 1975, they finally declared it an actual war.

The FBI was in the lead before the Sept 11th Attacks, And they also had a Lead Agent assigned to following Osama Bin Laden every where he went( Clinton did that).

That Lead Agent was "immediately reassigned to other duties at One World Trade Center by Vice President Cheney's authorization as soon as He and Little Bushy got into office in Jun 2001.

That Agent ( you can check this on PBS and many other places as well) was KILLED in the ATTACKS on Sept 11th 2001 doing the JOB the BUSH Administration assigned him INSTEAD of following Osama Bin Laden.

That Agent was Richard Clarks Friend - he can tell you the guys particulars very well.
But Then - Cheney also asserts as does his little baby girl, that Richard Clark was at fault in the attacks ( God forbid Cheney and Bush would accept responsibility for anything
